History of Our Scholarship Ministry
Butler Memorial United Methodist Church is a proud religious organization founded in 1912 through the efforts of a small group of civic-minded people with a missionary zeal to establish a Methodist church in the Williamsbridge section of the Bronx.
Our faith in God has helped us to open doors to opportunity by creating educational scholarships to help our Church members realize their potential. In June 1981, the church instituted a scholarship program with annual scholarships given to our deserving young people. Later on, members and friends of Butler established additional scholarships in honor or memory of loved ones.
